Now with help from my 82 year old mum, husband and son clearing our abandoned garden was started. Raspberries, blackthorn and various other creeping invasive plants are being pulled and dug up (where they were clinging onto the soil with more strength than we have in our hands and arms). I like to use no dig methods in order to protect the soil, its structure and all the life there in so where possible we just pulled them out. Fleeces from our sheep have been laid on the newly designated beds and compost placed on top to (hopefully) supress the vegetation underneath, roses and peonies planted and a myriad of vegetable and flower seeds sown filling the greenhouse.
